One Billion SPAMS!?

This is really an interesting topic. One billion spams! I am talking about [tag]Akismet[/tag] by Matt. Akismet is a [tag]wordpress plugin[/tag] that checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments. you can check mine on the bottom right sidebar.
so far as at typing, stats page reported that the total spam caught is 986,226,485 and total ham is 52,688,516. The term “ham” is what akismet team call a “non-spam” message. So the question is, when do you think Akismet be able to get [tag]1 Billion blocked spams[/tag]? End of this year? 2008 or 2009? If more people using blogs, I believe it will be sooner than we thought.

To date, currently my Akismet caught 1,006 spams on my blog alone. LOL!
