[tag]Yahoo[/tag]… [tag]Papa Red Team[/tag], [tag]Liverpool[/tag] [tag]won against Middlesbrough[/tag], [tag]score 2-0[/tag]. It is really an important match. [tag]Steven Gerard[/tag] first goal at minute 58 with his trademark 25 yards low strike gave the Liverpool the boost and making it again 2-0 from the penalty box after Andrew Davies was adjudged to have fouled [tag]Peter Crouch[/tag].

… [tag]Rafa Benitez[/tag] admitted Gerrard’s opener was the turning point of a game that threatened to be Liverpool’s second goalless draw in as many games.

“It was a stunning goal,” said the [tag]Liverpool manager[/tag]. “In this kind of game, the first goal is the difference and players like Steve can do things like this.

With this win on Wednesday, Liverpool is now on the third(3rd) spot in the table, two(2) points above Arsenal with four games remaining. This also moved Liverpool to within one victory of qualification for next season’s Champions League. Liverpool cannot afford to go into relax mode because they have ensure themselves the top-four finish as soon as possible by beating Wigan at the weekend.

“It’s important to get that sorted as soon as possible. Bolton and Everton now need to win four games and that’s not easy, but if we concentrate on ourselves and beat Wigan then it won’t matter what the others do.”

Liverpool has got to have this win against Wigan to prepare them ahead of their semi-final first leg in the Champions League competition at Chelsea next Wednesday. Now this the match that definitely not to be missed. The Reds againts the Blues. Papa will be waiting with the laptop on ready mode
