Football: Chelsea Won Against Liverpool 1-0

Yes, just finished. Chelsea beat Liverpool with the score 1-0. Joe Cole did it on the 29th minute with left leg on the counter attack supplemented well by Drogba from the right side. Just awesome first half for them. In fact, as stated by The Chosen One, Jose Mourinho, he was disappointed they did not score more. The score came on their 6th chance.
Knowing Rafa Benitez, he gambled a bit on Bellamy and Kuyt combo, it was no surprise though, Chelsea was really better with more chances on the first(1st) half. Nevertheless, Dirk Kuyt did tried with his head on the 22nd minute and also on the 50th minute but Petr Cech, Chelsea goalkeeper, did an excellent save to prevent them.
Came into the second(2nd) half, it was clearly Liverpool on the better side. Especially after Peter Crouch came in. Maybe that indicated, he should be in earlier. Interesting inside there. Liverpool striker Peter Crouch entered as a substitute over Greg Bellamy and his presence did gave Liverpool better in the attack but Chelsea defense was just too great.
Liverpool got their best chance in the 53rd minute when Steven Gerrard sent a thundering low shot on Chelsea’s goal but again Petr Cech made an incredible diving save on his left to prevent the equalizer.
At the end even though Liverpool had the 52% possession compares to Chelsea, The score 1-0 enough to mark their victory at Stanford Bridge Stadium to bring forward to Anfield, Liverpool. That is the First Leg of the semi-final review between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stanford Bridge Stadium. LIVE.
See you all next week. ![]()

Crouch has a “presence”?
You gotta be kidding me! I’d take Bellamy over him any day

Im not kidding Azmeen. Crouch does better in the scoring sheet. If I’m the manager, i will put Crouch over Bellamy. not to discount him, I put both of them side by side coz i like his active movement, mobility. It just happen if just between them, Crouch scores more. that’s all

Ohh the short term memory syndrome of Liverpool fans
Mind if I ask, how long did Crouch play without scoring a single goal? Crouch scores more because he plays more. If Bellamy were to play as much games as Crouch, he’d probably be scoring just as much if not more.
However, I’d be the first to say, Crouch has definitely improved. But probably at the expense of fielding players that could probably get the job done better and more consistently.
Just my RM0.02

azmeen, thanks for your comment. appreciate much of your 2 cents opinion.
Excuse me for being short term memory compares to you. I just use RAM. Easy, after no use, throw them away.
again, if im the Manager, i will again put Crouch. Sorry if you hardcore Bellamy… but still i put Crouch. After all, as my blog subtitle said, I got “little knowledge” on football too.
If I’m the manager again, my style is simple. You want me to choose you, impressed me. Gave you chance, don’t score, next player please. I gave you chance again, you don’t score again, next. simple. short term memory one. No need engineering theory here.
After all, Bellamy was in on the first half. Need to say more? I probably gave him the chance again in the second leg, if he did not score again.. next player. simple mah. Now, thats Papa Style of 2 cents. No need to say others got slack knowledge in comparison. Its the score that counts. Liverpool style. They may lose the current match or probably lose the other matches too but They will Never Walk Alone. Papa will always be there for them. the rest just ignored. OK, thats for long term memory LOL.

Well, if that’s you style, Crouch probably wouldn’t play for a long time during his early stages at Liverpool.
But like I said, Crouch has definitely improved a lot. Again, that’s due to the playing time he’s getting. To me, this is not a Crouch vs Bellamy problem. It’s merely an experience over exposure thing.
Frankly, if I’m Rafa, I’d put all three strikers up front
Kuyt’s creativity, Bellamy’s speed and Crouch’s aerial abilities combined would be very, very scary for the opposition. And Liverpool’s defense is among the best in the league.

Azmeen, it all started when u quoted the “presence” word that Papa used. To that, you have to agree, even if you not, that Crouch “presence” did gave Liverpool better in the attack compares to Bellamy when he got the chance on the first half. And I really was not kidding. ESPN guys talk about it. They all agreed Crouch made an impact compares to Bellamy.

So Bellamy, you want to stay longer in match? You give me goal… like what Crouch did most of his time. And I am not kidding Azmeen with that term “presence” as also the four guys in ESPN. and its not experience or exposure thing. You just have to make an impact to the guy who’s in charge. He probably do not like Rafa in the locker room and Rafa found out. There you go. So to Bellamy, score more please, for your own benefit. Liverpool paid you and the coach have all the right to make you stay on the bench or play but score. Complaining only leads to more bench time. Thats Life, Life is not fair, most of the time. Make your “presence” acknowledge by all.. by scoring in the given time. That’s why Rafa is Rafa.. and not us.
and I think Rafa decision to let Crouch stayed that longer in the early stages, does make sense now isn’t it. Rafa is always right, you know. Only Liverpool fan understand dis

ahahah yes. Although I am a MU fan, I’d like to think it’s not quite safe yet to think MU will definitely qualify for the final. Well it has to do with my past experience, when I got overconfident. Suey datang lol. So I think better keep low profile, considering 3-2 (due to the away goals) still put MU in a dangerous position. All Milan need to do is to score 1-0 or 2-1, and they will go through. Chelsea is has a better chance because they did not concede any away goals unless they lose on 2 goal difference against Liverpool in the next match of course.
