Today is 26th May 2007. [tag]My son Josh 3 years Birthday[/tag]. Yesterday our wedding anniversary.It is supposed to be the happening, mega party, grand gathering weekend. NOPE. Guess what? Early in the morning, MyJosh complains itchy. [tag]My son Josh Luke GOT CHICKEN POX[/tag]!!! What a timing!
Now, what is this Chicken Pox… please read below how contagious it could be.
Chickenpox is a common illness among kids, particularly those under age 12. An itchy rash of spots that look like blisters can appear all over the body and may be accompanied by flu-like symptoms. Symptoms usually go away without treatment, but because the infection is very contagious, an infected child should stay home and rest until the symptoms are gone.

Josh complaint. So itchy. Can’t bend his arm. Pity him.
So pity. We already ordered a cake. [tag]Mickey Mouse face[/tag] on the [tag]Chocolate Super Moist Mousse Cake[/tag] and along with KFC 1 barrel with nuggets. Of course with the French Fries too. He loves it. Instead it is going to be [tag]the silent night[/tag], just the three of us. And the twin babies of coz(inside tummy one

Oh ya, we called the Doc to check whether MommyJosh can take care or get closer to MyJosh or not since he got the chicken pox infection. Doc asked whether MommyJosh got chicken pox already or not … PPPhheeewwww. Already she said. During teenager. Like long time ago
Doc said, should not be a problem then. It’s safe. Will not be infected. Man, I really pity both of them. I am working till 8pm today and also tomorrow and my son is sick. Geez. Spoilt everythinglah. Even that song also cannot help.

Aisay, kesian nyer. I got chicken pox when I was pregnant with my eldest son. It was not so bad and I got 10 days MC. Woohoo! Get well soon, Josh!

thanks Jewelle & Jacq. My son when i left home just now, he’s relax already. Doctor gave some lotion and fever med. I think at this second, he must have been asleep already. will look into the calamine lotion thing

Awww…poor Josh. Having Chicken Pox on his birthday sure spoil his mood but I guessed it’s also good to get it at this age. The sooner you get it, the safer it gets as you grow older.
Most people will recommend Calamine lotion as it is easily available in the market. But do check up with your local pharmacy to see if they have Aveeno Anti-Itch Concentrated Lotion. My pharmacist recommended this. It is a colourless creamy lotion that helps not only in Chicken Pox cases but also for minor skin irritations and insect bites Do try this product as it also contains calamine to dry up the blister. Get the best for your kid ok?

ermm acyclovir if started early may help. oral anti histamine will perform better than calamine. there is no medication in calamine except providing soothing effect

Happy Birthday and get well soon Josh! Not the perfect combi for birthday but you do not need to worry bout him getting it when he’s older cause it’ll be more painful then. Will keep him in my prayers! Take care!
