The Chicken Is Out But The Pox Is still There?

The Chickenpox started on MyJosh Birthday that was ten(10) days ago. The chicken has left but the pox is still there. Just check the pictures. So kesian MyJosh.

You look closely, the pox drying up already. Yes, they are big pox!
Before I go on, to those who does not know what is Chickenpox.. well let me use my little knowledge noodle to explain. Chickenpox disease is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It is a very contagious viral infection but also in the same time common in children. It produces itchiness with blisters. There simple explanation. Got it?
OK, continue here…

Now here while washing and drying him. He’s so sticky and smelly. While doing all this of course no fan on but see, he still can’t let go his computer game. This kid ah… hmm. no comment.

Still playful, cheerful and gila-gila as before. He’s trying to swallow the whole kueh in one go and ask Papa to take photo. Isk isk isk.

There. Sleeping peacefully beside me [while blogging last night
]. The Chicken is out but the Pox is still there. Check his face. Now attacking his cute face. I noticed a few pox behind his ears and on his side head. I also noticed one small little pox on his right hand. The signal that is going to be over in the next 2 to 3 days.
We have done everything according to our parents and friends’ advises. Yes, even the coconut.

There a few coconuts. Ignore the big mangoes. Thats for me

The same coconut tree that produce hundreds of local brews for my uncle to sell[We drank a few of them during the kaamatan - good for your health
].
Yea, back to the coconut thing. It cannot be the one that fall. I need to go pick it up slowly, twisting it and without damaging or inverting it(terbalik). Put them nicely on the car seat and drive 2 hours back home from my Kampung. Phheww. I even go to the lengthy knife sharpening session, like 10 to 20 minutes. This is to ensure I open up the coconut without too much force. Like knife cutting through the butter. That kind of sharpness. You are not allowed to use the butcher cutting your meat style. No, no, no!
There are so many ‘pantangs’ in our kadazan world. I’m a practical man. I always question my parents, my nenek, my neighbours why like this, why like that, why why and lots of why. But you know what, in my son’s case, I just follow. Better Safe than Sorry. The end.
*** updates: My big sister who works in Hospital as the senior pharmacy there said, we missed one thing about the “pantang”. Never ever cook or fries something when he’s around. The smell of the frying can caused the chicken pox become cow pox(Gall, I owe you this term
). Well, there you go. Yes, we did fried something a few times and the computer table he always like to hang out is nearby the kitchen. Hmm interesting Pantang here.

darn … i’m having chicken pox now. spots popped up on my face this morning and i have a lot of office work! 1 1/2 weeks before CNY!! Argh. Spots mostly on my face and i’m already 28 yr old *sniff sniff*. Hope the scars won’t linger long.
i asked the doctor to prescribe me acyclovir to kill the virus. Hopefully it will lessen the duration.
i have an interesting bit on chinese pantang. mom said can only eat female chicken and not male chicken. no explanation on why. really strange.
