Ever encounter such office story?

I want to tell you all a short story about our office. Well, to be exact my Computer Department story. You know when you spend a lot of time inside the computer room, you tend to feel like you are one with it. Any movement, any sound, you directly can tell where it came from. Well, let just say this happen a few nights back when as usual I stayed back quite late.

Are you ready? Well, it happen around 6:30pm when I was waiting for the Shutdown Report as thick as three yellow pages book. The computer shutdown process can sometimes take me half hour to finish. While as usual watching the Hokkien Drama on Astro channel 19, in the same time blogging my way in the cyberworld. Answering comments and blog hopping. Suddenly I heard the big printer beeping inside the other ‘cold room’. Now that is normal when the rolling paper stuck or out of paper fault. So out of my comfortable chair and ‘paused’ my laptop. Guess what? When I was inside there, suddenly my hair started to stand up. Well, my hand’s hair, or whatever you call it. I felt the cold air behind me. Oh my, I thought. This could not be happening to me. I checked the printer, it was alright. No stucked paper or any fault!

I went back out to my laptop and tried to calm myself out of the fear. Suddenly out of nowhere, the newspaper my colleague forgot to put back on its place blown away from the top of the table. Pens dropped to the carpet sounded more like bricks fell on the tiles. The Aircon suddenly stopped. The TV started to flicker. Oh NO! I was like freezed to the floor, stood like the 100 years old log. Cannot move due to the shocking images happened in front of me. I must be dreaming right? I must be dreaming. No way.

Well, yes way. It was actually a dream after all. I fall asleep while doing the computer shutdown and no one woke me until 7pm. :D

    Oh. My. God.

You really got me there! Along with the good people who commented before me. As punishment to you joneh, I’ll hijack this post with my “ghostly encounter” comment (also dedicated to Cindy… you asked for it!).

It was my first orientation night in MSM, Trolak. It was about 11:30pm, and I was riding my motorbike heading back to the dorm. I had a friend who was riding pillion.

To get back to the dorm, we had to go through a dark lane called Killarney Lane. I was riding with my friend, and we remained mostly quiet. It was only a two minute ride, so chatting opportunities aren’t really abundant.

Just a few metres from the dorm, I saw an all white female figure standing by the road. I thought it was a female because it looks like a woman with a scarf on her head. White dress, white scarf. My initial thoughts were; “Must be some staff or their family member”.

As I rode closer and closer to the figure, a few thoughts came into my mind, one of which is; “It’s almost midnight, idiot! No women would ever stand by the road at midnight doing literally nothing!”.

When I was almost touching distance with the figure, I took a look at it. What I saw scared the life out of me.

I was looking at the figure’s face.

At least, for normal people, it’s the location where a face should be.

But what I saw remained burned in my brain.

The figure had no facial feature! No eyes, no nose, no mouth! Just a featureless skin like structure.

And I had a witness to boot! Remember my buddy who was riding with me? He saw the exact same thing, so I know I’m not imagining this.

That’s not scary at all compared to my other old office. You hear sounds running and knocking onto the ceiling (it turned out to be pigeons), you hear hissing sound coming from the toilet (burst pipe), you can see shadows popping up on and off (due to the blinking street lamps), you can even see mini twister of office papers flying about in a closed room (that until now I can’t explain, can you?) :P
