Just another day at home …

Hello everyone? Just the past few days, right before the Hari Raya, bad things happen to my family. Yeah my Mom got sick. It was a panic at first because as usual, my Mom is a cheerful person and being sick is not in her agenda. She was at the Kampung that time. She complaint pain in her stomach and dizziness. She was admitted to the Beaufort Hospital but later hurried on to the Ambulance van to Kota Kinabalu Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further follow-up. The nurse told my father, she would be operated in QEH. Imagine the shock my father had. He himself a Heart Problem patient and the news almost fainted him. Luckily not!

However, Thank GOD, Mom is all right now. She is staying with my elder brother Jay at Menggatal where most of the luxury homes situated. We visited her last night, direct after wife’s work. Of course, the kids were excluded from the visit. We let them at auntie’s house for a while. Mom still complaining a bit pain when eating porridge or even just a mere cup of water. However, it is bearable she said. Just a matter of getting used to less food at first.

Mom and Dad will be staying at my brother’s house for a while before going back Kampung again. You see, they just cannot leave their Kampung house even for a single day without thinking about it. Most of them times, it is about “who going to water the flower?” kind of worry. I guess we all like that too when we grow older. We tend to be attached to our own house, especially the one we built with our own hands. Oh well, no point arguing with them to stay back a bit longer at the city, at our houses. As long as they are happy, I am happy too. One thing I always reminded them, make sure the hand phone fully charge, available at all time by their sides and anything they want or wish for, must call immediately. I said, even if we are busy with our work, we can always stop and go for them. That is my promise to them.

Haha…same case here. Who’s going to feed my cats, fish, etc. Long holidays are bad for me as well. How I wished I can have a nice luxury home now where I will leave all the duties to the maid and I go for a long wild holiday. I do need that too.

Good to hear that nothing is serious about your Mum. Anyway, you are such a filial son to meet all her needs.

Heheheh, same like my grandpa last time lar. Whenever we take him to stay at our place for the weekend or holidays, he’ll keep complaining: “Who’s gonna watch the chickens? The buffaloes? I’m not sure if I’ve shut the window properly or not..” and a lot of stuff that he worried about. :P

Get well soon, PapaJoneh’s mom. :D

I think when its my turn to be old, I will not ask my daughters “Who’s going to water my plants?” – since I don’t garden – or “Who’s going to cook for your papa?” – since he is very independent.

Instead I will tell them to “Take me for a holiday anytime!”

On a more serious note, your mom is indeed lucky to have a son like you PapaJ.
