Baby Baptism preparation meeting

Last Sunday, yesterday 21st October, was my applied off day. I took leave to make time for our baby baptism preparation meeting with the Parishioners at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The meeting was schedule at 2:30pm so we took our sweet time to prepare our children to be send to auntie. (To my Auntie, sorry to disturb you on Sunday :) )

Josh as usual very naughty, did not want to take bath. No matter what I did to make him take his bath, he just simply ignore it. Wife already that busy with the twins and she handled the two just by herself. Giving them bath one by one and at the same time making sure no one cries. If you still have no idea why all the fuss, well, we have no maid, auntie or mother in law at home to help us. Early in the morning wife already downstairs, washing clothes. My job in this moment of time, is just hoping the twins still asleep. If not, have to attend their crazy demands. So just imagine in your head how stressful and tiring it is to maintain the house and the kids at the same time. Yeah, imagine that if you are still single, don’t get married. If you already married, delay your plan for children if you are not ready yet. If you have a child already, be thankful you have maid or your mother or your in-law to help you in the cleaning department. If you are a parent who taking care your kids all by yourselves, pat your shoulder now. Be proud of it. No one can say you have not done your job later on. However, on the other hand, circumstances do play part in the kids caring and growth. Having nanny at home is indeed the only answer. I can only say to you, “You are so lucky!”.

Anyway, back to the story. When we reach the church as early as 2pm, half an hour earlier than the proposed time, the queue to the registration table was already as long as the length of two tourism buses end to end. It was like buying the world series tickets. Geez. I wonder, they must have been in the church since 1pm or probably 12:30pm.

To cut thing short again, we registered, signed and chose our chairs. Minutes later, our twins Godfather arrived. Yes, the twins’ Godfather is actually one of this blog commentator, Mr. GILeviN from Proton Edar Kolombong. Thanks Bert ;)

The meeting talked about:

  • What is Baby Baptism
  • Why you want to do baptistm
  • What is the meaning of Godfather
  • Why you need them
  • Their job, responsibility to the kids
  • Parent(s) responsibility
  • Lastly, rehearsal of the sacrament with the Priest

I am sure there are more points up there but that’s the main one. We finish at around 4:40pm. Phhewww. Done until next week, the real thing. The day my twins will be baptist as Christian Catholics. Can’t wait.

*** Oh ya, the brother said, make sure do not mix up between Preston and Presley when the Fr. Wilfred call each their name. Hahaha. As if they know I am going to have hard time to differentiate them. Ha-ha.
