Please don’t scare me!

My wife called me last night when I was still in the office at around 6:40pm – working. She called to inform that Preston fell from the swing!!! I said, “What!?!!” She was crying that time and she could not even repeat what she has said.
I asked again, “What dear? Preston jatuh?”

“Dear, Preston fell with the ayunan. It broke!”

I just could not believe what I was hearing. Even my colleague quite surprise that I shouted at my handphone. “What?!? Is he ok? Is he crying?”

“No dear. He is not crying at all. Dear, I am scared.”

That time I was like puzzle, could not believe what I have just heard. Panic yes, but like suspended in time. I did not realize I have tears in my eyes. My colleague saw this and she wanted to know what actually had happened.

“Aikk, then who is that crying? Where Josh?” I asked wife.

“That is Presley. He must have sensed I shouted just now. Josh is near us now. Dear, I am scared.”

“OK, ok. Dear, you know I cannot go out now. I am doing the shutdown duty. Call your sister, you brother, anyone to be there.” “I’ll be back as soon as possible”.

Damn! I hate saying that. I just could not do anything. This is what happens when you are working under someone. I try to relax myself after disconnecting the call. I just wish the time would be faster than usual. I have to be in the office up to 8pm.

I call wife after 5 minutes. The handphone report engaged tone. “Ok, she must be talking with one of her sisters”, I thought. After like hours but actually just a few minutes after, wife called to inform that she was talking with her elder sister. She also reported that Preston is still not crying and he actually smiling and like “purring” with her. “Thank GOD”, I said to wife. “Just keep checking him dear. I’ll be back very soon.”

Wife said, “I am checking him dear. The head and body seems to be ok.” “OK Dear, have to go. Presley crying.”

During that moment, I can hear wife still crying – softly though. I could only wish everything is all right. Nothing much can do but just wait for my work to finish.

To cut short, I drove like crazy man going back home after the full network shutdown. I think I cut red light 2 times on my way. I almost hit my power gate before it even open fully. All the worries vanished the moment I picked up Preston in my hands and he actually smiled at me. I hugged and squeezed him as if I have been away for months. Thanks to GOD and Praise You Lord for taking care my boys. Amen.

This is a new spring, like less than a month. See what happened.

I later found out that all my wife’s sisters and brothers were there as soon as they found out. They all hugged and kissed Preston and said to my wife that Preston is all right and that angels are taking care of him, Presley and Josh. I feel so blessed to have my wife’s side there to console and care about her very much. I did not tell my family about it until now. They all live far away from me and I am sure they could not come as fast as my wife’s family. I am so grateful with my wife’s family assistance whenever I am not around. Alice, my sister in law said, such incident is actually a blessing in disguise because every one of them was there on the Twins 3 months old. It was like a birthday party gathering without the need for invitation. Wife’s other sister, Edith the Teacher, stayed back until I reached home and everything taken care of while the rest went back earlier after making sure Preston was really all right.

I also found out later from my wife’s story that Josh actually jumped from his computer chair and actually said, “Sorry Preston. Sorry adik” and caressed Preston’s forehead. While Presley actually the one who cried first when the “Ayunan” broken into two. As if he knew, wife said.

I felt so tired mentally with the incident but felt blessed and grateful too that I decided to take picture with the twins and Josh. So here the latest picture of me with twins Preston on the right, Presley on the left and Josh in front.

Papa with kids picture

*** See my hair and moustache(mustache) and actually some beard too. All there to show I’m tired, not enough sleep, not enough everything to care about my self-image. Well, what is there to care anyway, duhh.

“Blessed are those who put trust in the Lord”…this sentence is what I always remember for the safety of my family…my son also had the same accident as your son but luckily, he was more than one year old oledi….he do cried but not so serious…my wife hug and kiss him (me too)…I think your twin share an invisible link to each other….meaning when one thing happen to the other twin, the other one can sense it…and finally, your last photo, that image suit you well for a father of three…salute you man…
