I am really on Celcom 3G Connection now!

Author Papaadmin February 22nd, 2008 | Viewed 1,282 views

Yes, this time I am really on Celcom 3G connection! I got fed up with no Internet connection especially in the office on my [spare time of course :D ]. Imagine two weeks no connection. The money lost is totally unacceptable. So I just dive in and invested on this cool gadget.

BlueCube 3.5G modem attached to the laptop image

See, beside my old but still usable Motorola V3i. They are both almost the same size. Black is Beauty :D. Unlike the other modem. So white yuuucccckkksss. Like the Kotex. Hahaha. OOOpppps, sorry to those who are using it. Just my feelings towards it shape. Black shiny and square is better in this case :D

This is the modem that everyone, well most people using to connect using the Celcom 3G. I for one, go for the looks. I chose the Blue Cube 3G.3.5G (HSPDA).

Now you asking is it worth it or not? Well I am not good in reviewing things. I have poor English. I do not want to scare you all with my improper usage of words or terms. One thing for sure, I tell you all direct here, it is pretty damn worth it for me. it is faster than my office streamyx in Luyang and best of all, I can go online anytime, anywhere wherever Celcom is. Meaning, the whole Sabah lah tu. Hahaha.

Surfing the Internet using 3G in the car image
See here while I fill up petrol at Sembulan, my wife drafting her article for her blog. I think it’s worth every money I dumped on it. Ignore the car exterior. Rainy season, lazy to wash my car. Hahaha.

How much ah? Well here for the whole Kahuna.

  1. Celcom 3G subscription - RM98 [Full 3G unlimited connection]
  2. Blue Cube USB Modem - RM799 [I got it cheaper, contact me if you want ;) ]

That’s all. I know Streamyx is cheaper, I have one too but think about the mobility. For me, I just have to have this. Imagine if you are like our friend Gaman with no Internet connection. I am far and totally not as Pro as Gaman when comes to Internet Income but I still find this is a must for me. I will be totally mobile when I have my DC to AC converter later on. I am going to use it wherever my car can go. Laptop no power, just charge it back. Now I feel like a Pro Reporter - not problogger. Hahaha.

Reading beyond this line is no longer my responsibility. I kid you not. :P
————————————————————————-

For info, other than I am capable of going online wherever the Celcom coverage is, this is definitely not possible without any intervention from the company that willingly sponsor this article without any restriction. So, when you have to get the bath lift, you know you are in trouble already. Hahaha. I am no kidding you. Why you want a lift to your bath? Either you are not capable of moving or you really have some spare money to spend. However, in the same time, it is definitely a cool way to take your bath. Hahaha. Laugh again my friend. This is no joke. This is a quality lift for a quality time of your own - in the bath! Hahaha.

Cindy - Just great the Celcom 3G. Highly recommended. My daytime streamyx connection is actually no connection at all! Damn bad like nothing.

Alb - Go for Celcom 3G. Definitely! Digi only has EDGE. Lower transmission and nothing beats 3G connection. You can try Maxis too. But here in KK-Penampang, I prefer Celcom 3G.

Marcia - Thanks for dropping by. I think Canada is a much much hi tech than KK Sabah. the 3G is a wireless data connection up to 3.6Mbps. More info here at Celcom

I like to have a girl but obviously not in the near future. Hahaha.

hi there, i’m interested to subscribe to the Celcom broadband basic 384kbps (rm68/month) package, is that package comes along with the white USB plug & play modem? or do i have to pay additional price for the modem?

if so, can i get the similar modem from elsewhere? eg. any computer gadget shops eg. any other brand?

hope u can help me, thanks!!

Hi.. I just bought a 3G HUAWEI Data Card and subscribed celcom 3G Internet. But I got problem with the connection speed. The connection is good for about 20 seconds and after that the speed drop to 300bps. So slow like snail. I need to disconnect and reconnect in order to surf again. But the same problem happen again. I went to see the dealer where I bought my celcom 3g and he said celcom 3g network is under maintenance. Is that true? And do anybody face the same problem? At first I really excited with my new celcom 3g but now I feel like want to throw this thing awway.. arrrghh..

nimrodjo - sorry friend, late reply. stick to streamyx if no celcom 3G there.

ezoone - should be ok by the look of the package. So now, how?

zidni - i’m not sure there’s a difference in the modem in regards of connection. Setup different only. most of all is to check whether the location of going online. Got celcom 3G or not? if not, its going slow to edge connection like the digi edge or even slower if that area is worst. all depend on area.

eric - sorry i am not sure about that inclusive package. I am not a celcom dealer :D You can ask them direct at celcom office. In kk sabah, that would be in Damai.
modem you can get elsewhere of coz. I go direct to wisma merdeka, the main distributor at 6 or probably 7th floor. I forgot already.
but remember at that package, your speed is only up to 384kps maximum only and not at full 3G connection.

Bearnerd - it can happen when celcom really do the maintenance. first of all, whats the package u subscribed to? second, the place you are using, does it a 3G area?
my place has the 3g connection so i can surf at around 1MB… staying still on the desk where i’m working. it all depend on your area.

Remember everyone… the use of this 3g usb is to enable you to connect wirelessly under celcom area. whether you have the full connection or not, depend on your area.
for example, my house at penampang does not provide the full 3g connection. it connected slower than my wireless streamyx. but i understand.. so no regret there. but my working place where i usually hang out got 3g.. and i connected at least at 700++ to 1MB connection. faster than my office streamyx. so i’m happy and that is why i bought it.
hope that solve all confusion on 3g connection. the rest, up to celcom staffs :D
