MyJoshLuke finally wants to go to school!

Author Papaadmin June 24th, 2008 | Viewed 318 views

Yep, my son Josh Luke finally decided it is best to go to school than just staying at home looking at his twin brothers happily chewing their pacifiers. my Josh Luke got so fed up looking at everyone, his cousins, his Che Che (sister), his Koh Koh(brother) all going to school and leaving him behind. He got so jealous, he finally asked us to ‘make him’ go to school. Yeah, so many “go to school” words here. Don’t you just love me for that? :D

He is just turned 4 years old recently. Remember the Josh 4 years old AirAsia Birthday Cake? Well, that’s 4 years old for him. We are actually holding him going to school until he reach that age. For me, anything early than that is just not right for him. He is just not ready. For me, I want him to really enjoy his young age with no rules, just play. However, since he is already 4 years and he already wise enough to ask us to go to school, we just follow. See, he’s matured enough to ask for it without us forcing him. So I believe, we make the right decision for him. :)

OK enough of that. Pictures time below taken last week on his first exposure to school environment. Warning, lotsa pictures down here.

Josh preferred Yuk Yu School
MyJoshLuke preferred school. The Penampang Yuk Yu Kindergarden School. He’s running towards me trying to stop me from taking picture. Wife standing at the far end, ‘geleng kepala’ with Josh behaviour.

Josh checking the school playground
As usual, typical Josh. Have to check the playground first. :D

Josh testing one of the school playground
Not enough checking and viewing only, Josh has to test it for durability and how fun it is first. :P

Josh class teachers
After he satisified with the playground, up we went to the classroom for 4 years old children. Candid shots obviously. Nice class with nice teachers.

Josh class back decor

Josh classmate all girls?
Waaahhh, if I not mistaken from this shot above, sure more girls than boys here. Untuuunnng or rugi my son, we wait and see lah. Hahaha.

Josh Yuk Yu school ativities board
Some of the activities done by the Yuk Yu School children on every month. Singing, play, visiting etc. Pretty cool. I like this school already. However, I like most is this picture below. Happens on every friday right outside the classes.

Josh Yuk Yu School Bible Reading
Bible reading to all students. How nice. I wonder my son will sit still like them or not? Fainted lah teachers like this!

Josh Yuk Yu School stuffs
Here, back at home with all the school stuffs ready for him. Is he excited or not?

Josh with his Yuk Yu School Uniform
He is ready and he looks so handsome with uniform. Hahaha.

Guess what guys, looking at all this pictures especially the last one, I feel so so proud and Thanks GOD for myJosh. In the same time, feel sad knowing this is my Josh Luke first encounter to the real world and the beginning of him separating from me. I do not know how to say this in English. I feel so nervous for him. I feel I wanna hold him much longer and be able to play with him and he chose me to play with him only … and not with others. I feel so jealous. You know, the feeling is mixed. I wish him all the best of course. I want him to grow up and “feel the world” in his own perspective. I want him to be as happy as possible and still make us proud in his own way.

Of course I forever cannot lead his life. He got to do that by his own. But.. I really do not want it to happen so soon. He is after all my baby. Doooiiiiii giah (local slang here). I already missing him now while typing all this.

*** update 25/6: I have got emails on this so I need to clarify. I think I have not mentioned this, Josh is going to school only on this coming 30th June, Monday. Not yet as this post published. This is only on the registration day. Sorry to some who got confused :D The feelings are still the same. Even worst on that day itself!

ADoiiii… my anak satu orang tu kann.. LOL!

my son went to nursery class when he was about 2 years old. i have never regretted it cos it made him more independent. so wherever we leave him, like sunday school or friend’s house he would never cry and cling to my leg, not wanting to let go.
all the best to little josh, yah.

Congrats Josh! Soon you’ll be moving on to homework ;)

Anyway, did you and Mrs J hang out at the school for the first day?

I remembered my son’s first day at school last year. We’re not allowed to be in the school compound (if you can call it that, it’s in a shophouse). The principal says it’s better to let the child accommodate to the new surroundings by himself.

But I sure was proud as heck that day, as I’m sure both of you are :)
