Home Improvement again … kitchen

Home improvements November 1st, 2009 | Viewed 523 views

I know I have done this part, the kitchen part but I still wish I have my camera now with me. All the building process were captured and still in the camera memory card … and I do not know where’s my camera now!!!!

It is just a simple “plug and play” kind of work. The hole for the old sink pipe was stuck due to unknown properties. We have tried many gadget, solvent material but still no good result. So the shortcut is just cut it and reroute it direct to the drain through the kitchen hole. Wife asked bro-in-law to help with the wall-drilling using his workers power drill. The rest is just easy. I went out buy the 8 feet long pvc pipe, cut to right length, glue them together with the right 90 degrees bend and through the wall and down to the drain. Easy and in fact, the water and waste went out easily now. Pheww.

I always like proper kitchen look but sometimes, time and money do not come together in the same time. I ever thought of installing one of the many copper sinks choices I see from one of local hardware store here but due to the time constraint, I just leave it as a wish. Our kitchen is still work in progress so I do not intend to install many nice hardware yet.

Sigh.

Let’s do the Plumbing … AGAINNN!!!

Home improvements September 12th, 2009 | Viewed 968 views

It’s that time again. I think I was a plumber in my previous life. Hahaha. I really like doing this. Not only it requires your lack of skills, it also build on your creativity. Especially on the part that supposed to be easy, just follow the book kind of installation, I modified it due to lack of hardware. Hahaha.

Yep, I like doing this. It is not for my kitchen though. My kitchen, for now, considered enough already. I did see a nice collection of kitchen faucets in the internet recently that I love to install but not now. Well not on this project. Maybe next month ;)

This time is my ground floor toilet. Wife said you try install one of this cool faucet. I said Okay. You want to challenge me, I can do it. Well here all the shots for the this blog record :P

Home Improvement Again – Plumbing Work!

Home improvements June 24th, 2009 | Viewed 1,703 views

Just another off day of mine doing things for my home. Honestly, it’s not my wish to spend my seldom off day doing, working, sweating over this home improvement thing. A job definitely for a qualified plumber!

our leaked tank picture

However, as the owner of the house, if you do not do, you suffer the consequences. In this case, our damn tank leaked from its location above the ceiling and all the water running down on our beautiful wall and through our lovely wall lamp. Cilaka! Read the rest of this entry »

Home Sweet Home

Blogging, Home improvements May 26th, 2009 | Viewed 939 views

I like this term, home sweet home. For a person who likes to be at home all the time, nothing beats being at home, doing everything without others ordering you. You can forgive the other better half. She special ;)

Anyway, being at home I think has one negative impact, among other things which you can tolerate. That is you be able to see everything and more thoroughly the condition of your house and the surrounding. One thing for sure, I hate the grass keep growing. Growing faster than my next off day. I just noticed also the wall near the stairs is wet and rusty look. I soon found out it was due to the leaked water tank above the ceiling. Damn. that is like climbing 20 feet above to see the tank under no light at all with no ladder that tall. I had to use the short plain wood ladder that my father made it for us .. which need my wife to hold due to the different length of the ladder’s leg. Totally troublesome. The damn thing some more, the water leaked to my wall lamp that look a lot like one of the Progress lighting sold in USA. All the cost added, including hurting myself going down from the ceiling, I think if I put into a value, around RM2,000.

So, sometimes I hate being at home not because I cannot relax but to find out that I do not have the well built house. Everything need money and that is why even you hate blogging, you blog it anyway. :P

Been Really Busy!

Home improvements, personal February 27th, 2009 | Viewed 853 views

Sigh. No time to blog, what more to blog hop. This is surely going to be a short one and actually for yesterday’s story.

Wife talked about it and I think I am going to too here. Well, the grass getting longer every day and the guy I asked to cut by today (yesterday 27th Feb) did not come as promised in the morning. In fact the whole day that guy did not come. I wait, wait and wait. Picked up Josh and attended whatever my son’s need, still the grass cutter did not come.

Our house has some of you know, still with the old style fence and like everybody in the world can see from the bottom of the ground right up to wherever you wanna see in the sky, it is all open to public viewing – which I hate. I wish I have someone can just do the fence for me. I do not mind at this moment if I cannot get the concrete fence, the pvc fence installation will do just nice – just to cover from public eyes. Yeah, so they do not able to see my long grass.

I wanna do myself, but been so busy with house management which is more an emergency compares to the grass getting taller every day. Not to mention, work in the office. Sigh. If I can cut the grass just using my mouse like right now, I am pretty sure done by this 1pm. How I wish things that simple.

Tuesday will be my off day. If that guy still not come early, I think I have to cut it by myself. It is going to be a long day lah that day. :(

Morning Tension!!!

Home improvements November 22nd, 2008 | Viewed 1,411 views

You expecting a good day to start. You wake up early. You kiss your kids good morning and they smile back. You kiss your wife on the cheek, she gave you the look like “surprise” but accepted it. So, must be a good day today then. Everything going as you wanted it to be, A good day, an off day relaxing at home.

UNTIL YOU OPEN YOUR DOOR AND LOOK OUTSIDE!!!

Tension with the long grass image

Tension, tension!!! This is what happen when you are busy with your work in the office. Reach home only at night time. You don’t even know if there’s anyone camping outside. You just know the door in front of you, you open it bring them all in and shut it for the day. Sleep. Next day open the car, bring everyone inside and repeat again. What a life eh!!!! Tension, tension!!

So, the solution other than waiting forever for the PTI on a bicycle with their lawnmower machine, asking for RM30 to cut your grass, you just have no option but to do something about it. After cursing had to do it, I decided to just buy this.

Please welcome my new friend, the powerful Bosch Grass Cutter!!! Read the rest of this entry »
