Don’t Mess with my Kid!

Hahaha. I don’t know why I chose that title but it kind of sound real. He’s one mean one when he’s angry. Yeah, I am talking about my elder son Josh.
Here’s Josh trying to hit my new buggy while on its slow engine run-in process. For info, on every new engine or buggy kit, you need to slowly run-in it so to make their parts mate to each other better. This to avoid breakage when on real racing situation. The problem is the sound of the engine.. well let’s just say, none of my neighbor likes me afterward. Hahaha. So damn loud.
Anyway, back to Josh. Yes, he came out from the house – from in front the TV while watching his favorite Tom & Jerry Show and took the … what do u call it, and trying to catch my buggy and slamdunk with it. As always, i have my camera near by … click! Right at the moment… enough time to get away.. lucky he was not that accurate. Hahaha. Ok that’s all.

Hobby, personal, Radio Control May 15th, 2009 | Viewed 947 views
I know Gunung Mulu is there. I have been in the few caves there and What else?
Well I know one thing for sure, at this 4:50am Friday morning, I will be at the airport with the rest of my crazy rc friends boarding the flight to Miri. We are participating the annual Radio Control Nitro Buggy and Truggy Borneo Cup Race at the Miri Senandin Track. This is the biggest event in the calender for us Borneon. There will be 64 racers in the nitro buggy class, while 30 racers in the truggy class. I will be in both classes. Racers from Singapore, KL, Brunei and of course from Sarawak itself will be there to compete. As far as I know, we are the biggest team to come for this race – 15 racers, with one friend’s wife, a daughter and a friend’s girlfriend joining in too. it’s going to be awesome experience for them. Oh yes, I have a second wife that is for sure. My main wife also knows her. In fact, she knows my other mistresses too. Oh yes, I did it right in front of her and she knows I am very proud of owning her. Behold my favourite, my current squeeze, The 1:8 scale Radio Control Car, all the way from and made in Italy, The Motonica P8.0R 2008 version.

What is radio control vehicle or RC Racing?
Hobby, HPC Glenmarie track, Radio Control September 18th, 2007 | Viewed 6,598 views
This is of course my most favorite topic of all, the [tag]Remote or Radio control vehicle[/tag]. I can talk about it non-stop any day any time of the year. It is in my blood already. It is more than a hobby. It is my passion. In other word, I am crazy about it and it is my second wife. So, do not mess with me about my radio control vehicle ok
Anyway, what is radio control vehicle actually? In simple term, it is just a vehicle with a receiver maneuvered wirelessly by a radio transmitter. The radio you have at home, well that is just a receiver. The transmission can be in digital or analog. You want better control get the digital one. The one you get from the supermarket, that is analog transmission and mostly in 27MHz channel. In real RC racing where more than ten (10) people competing each other, you really have to get different frequency available. You either use the 27, 40 or the 75Mhz used mostly in USA. Mine in 40Mhz – 40.775 and 40.225Mhz.

My digital, 10 memories with pulse braking, the KO Propo radio. This cost me RM1,800
So far, I have done racing the [tag]Electric powered car[/tag], or EP. I have done the [tag]Gas Nitro Powered car[/tag], the [tag]GP Onroad[/tag]. However, the one I love so much is the [tag]RC Nitro Offroad vehicle[/tag]. They are 4WD and with tough differentials on each axle and in the middle of the chassis. In my collection, I have RC buggy, RC Truggy (a combo of truck and buggy) and RC Monster truck. Luckily if I have to say it here, I do not have any of the RC airplanes to show off. They are not only need bigger space to run, they are also so expensive comparing to their off-road cousin. They break easily too.

My 1:10 scale GP onroad, Serpent 710. Cost RM1,500 + modified Max tuned engine RM1,350

My Champion Monster truck – UMS Monster truck A main Champion. Cost RM2,250

My buggy and truggy when it’s not in the mud! Buggy RM1,800 | Truggy RM2,000 with STS .28 engine
So there, a really short story of my RC life. Hope you all can join me. You probably lucky to be in my team, with sponsors from Hongnor Taiwan.

Here I was during last year international race at [tag]HPC Glenmarie Selangor track[/tag]. There were two categories, the buggy and the truggy. I joined one class only, my favorite the truggy class. I qualified 3rd but DNF (did not finish) due to broken engine pipe manifold. End up no.7th on my first international race in truggy. Not bad.
Radio Control Racing on my Off Day!?
Hobby, Kota Kinabalu, Off Day, Penampang, Radio Control, RC Drift June 29th, 2007 | Viewed 1,171 views
Lucky today I’m off day again
. Last night been hanging out with my old [tag]RC Hobby Friends[/tag] doing the thing that we love so much other than our family of course, [tag]Radio Control Racing[/tag]. I have been so out of their rc league that last night we hang out till 2am, I mean until this early morning, radio controlling and chit chatting about the old days.
We hang out at Baskelball court behind the [tag]Cempaka Square Club[/tag] at [tag]Penampang[/tag]. The meeting scheduled at 9:30pm but as usual, Malaysian or should I just say, Sabahan time, we all end up meeting everyone at 11pm!!!
I was not there to race or play, because all my RC stuffs are in the storeroom. You know, as the “pantang” aka “taboo” thing goes, when your wife is pregnant, the man is not allowed to do any wrenching, hammering, screwing, banging or whatever ‘lah’ in that nature. So how can I go RC Racing without the screwing, tuning, wrenching and whatever ‘lah’ again. therefore, I just watch lah.
But anyway, the meeting was actually for the [tag]RC Drifting Racers[/tag] only. We were there because they invited us as courtesy to bless them with this new RC class. AND also to ‘racun’ us to follow them. For those who has not known me, I am a hardcore RC Nitro Offroad racer. So this [tag]Electric Powered Radio Control car[/tag], is nothing to me. I love the sound of the engine roaring and the smell of the nitro burned at RPM more than 30,000. Oh yes, my rc nitro truggy engine can goes up to 30,000 and even 40,000 RPM. That’s Revolution Per Minute
. Anyway, as a courtesy for their official invitation, I just go ‘lah’.
To cut thing short, I do not know how to say this, but somehow they managed to ‘racun’ aka ‘hooked’ me into this Drifting racing. Just check the video. A few laps using my friend’s car, I already like “Oh no, another next month budget gone overboard!”. LOL.
Now, the video was taken at [tag]Tanjung Aru Plaza[/tag] Parking lot. But the racers are the same people came last night. I did not bring my video or camera, so last night drifting gone just like that. But I think you know it by now how rc drifting raced. Alright. That’s all. And oh ya, if any of you in the vicinity of [tag]Kota Kinabalu[/tag] at around 9:30pm. Just go check them again, maybe I’ll be there too – Kena racun sudah kan
, at [tag]Asia City’s Parking lot[/tag], 4th floor. They will be doing some serious drifting again.
But what the heck, I just throw a bonus video of how I break or run-in my new buggy engine. Now, new engine need to be run-in in such a way so that it is ready to be used for racing where the RPM is so much higher and the temperature is around 100C to 140C. So a proper engine break-in is a must.
Original source is here, Proper Radio control nitro engine break-in / run-in.
Not so expensive at around RM(1,800+800+120+950+1,200+300+100) => RM?,???
